Costa Rica’s natural gifts come aplenty. The length of its shores –touching both Caribbean and Pacific seas- undoubtedly provides for so many “Point Break” options as can be found in one single country.
Originally, Costa Rica played for an unsung location in the vast list of Surfing destinations, then, very slowly, and through a personal reference mostly, the country started gaining reputation as the unusually dandy location it has developed into. The culture that has sprung from this particular activity has also left its mark in the national consciousness and it is common thing to find visitors here solely for the wave bashing purpose.
The beaches of Guanacaste are likely the most popular, stretching south to the Central pacific Coast and ending almost where Panama and Costa Rica touch ends –the still remote Playa Pavones is good example of it-; Limon being the only province reaching to the Caribbean is the last yet not least important of surfing posts.
Here we intend to inform and explore on the endless possibilities our country can offer to this special guild, also, bringing in the opinion and guidance of those directly involved in it. Charts will be shown depicting the weather and tidal conditions, all to better equip those interested in exploring it. Remember, all great adventures must depart from San Jose.
