Birdwatching or “Birding” –as it also commonly known- is one more of Costa Rica’s natural attractions, bringing no smaller quantity of visitors and for no less noble purpose, for this country possesses 800 and more species within relatively small land compounds. The colorful aspect of the winged wildlife has provoked the curiosity of those interested in biodiversity and the local Tourism boards have not forfeited this field from the broader visit routes.
The geology of Costa Rica plays great part in this experiment, as seashore levels as well as high mountainous environments are all prepared to receive the watcher. While having simply planned for a quiet stay in one of the countless beach resorts, or reserved a cabin in the cloudy fairytale-like reservoirs of Heredia’s mountains, it is feasible to easily reach one of the parks specially designed for this purpose.
With the support of the entities and foundations dedicated to boost this activity, we have planned to also enlighten the visitor on the possibilities and options offered in the local market. Personal accounts and tips for birdwatchers will also be regularly posted hoping to broaden the perspective on a field that grows more competitive day by day.
San Jose –as it can be expected- will play the role of center of operations, and all travel agencies can also easily help you in finding the most suitable destinations and budgets. Remember, all great adventures must depart from San Jose.
